Nova Star Crochet Square Free Tutorial

On my Instagram and Facebook you could already see what I was working on these last couple of days. I just loved how everybody was helping me find a name for this pattern. Finally I chose for Nova Star, I like the way it sounds and like the meaning: New Star,  It’s a nice square for a baby blanket and every baby of course is a new star!

I wish I had more time to make a full blanket with this square, maybe some day! I am sharing the tutorial with you for free and hope I will see full blankets with it, so please don’t forget to tag me on your social media or send me pictures, I would love to see!

For these samples I used StonewashedX (with hook 6mm), which you can buy at Woolwarehouse and Deramores.
But I guess any yarn with matching hooksize will work, just try it out.
In Stonewashed XL one square measures 8x8cm.I think you need one skein for about 18 stars and one skein basic color for about 12 outsides.

I did my best to make it as clear as possible how to make the square and how to join them as you go. If you don’t understand that method, just join them any other way you like.

sc =single crochet hdc= half double crochet dc=double crochet 2dctog = crochet 2 double crochet together

I love to share my designs with you to inspire you and I like to keep some for free! A little donation though would be much appreciated, so I can keep buying yarn.
