Believe it or not but some times I do like to crochet with only one color! I made this Lucky Star Blanket for Durableyarn and you can find the FREE pattern here at their website. Its actually a pretty simple square, but put together it has great effect! You can either sew the squares together or do like me and join them as you go.

So let’s start with making the first square! Look here for the pattern (US terms)

So now you know how to join these squares as you go! It’s actually quite simple just pull your stitch through the opposite stitch of a finished square first before you make your stitch.

The blanket is made with 12 balls light grey Durable Double four, which is a wonderful 100% soft cotton and I used a 5mm hook. For the matching pillow I used Durable Coral, which is a 100% mercerized cotton with a lovely shine. I made a piece with 16 squares (4×4) with 3 balls Coral light grey and a 3mm hook and then sewed that piece on a 50x50cm pillow from Ikea.
