Materials:
You can use any kind of yarn with matching hook size.
I used Durable Double four with a 4mm hook and my cat measures about 12cm.
Cotton like Drops Paris or Chalista are good options too!
Abbreviations US terms:
beg beginning
ch chain
dc double crochet
fsc foundation single crochet
hdc half double crochet
sc single crochet
slst slipstitch
st stitch/stitches
sp space
Special stitches:
fsc: insert hook, yarn over, pull through a loop, yarn over, pull through 1 loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
Note: When inserting the hook in the foundation of a previous foundation stitch, make sure you put through front and back loop.
Instructions:
With color 1 make magic ring
Round 1: 1ch (does not count as st), 6sc in ring
Round 2: (1sc, 1hdc) in first sc from round 1, 2dc in next 2 st, take hook out and leave long loop, join color 2 in this same st with slst, (1sc,1hdc) in next st, 2dc in next 2 st, take hook out and leave long loop.
Round 3: pick up loop from color 1 and work 2dc in next 6 st, take hook out and leave long loop, pick up loop from color 2 and work 2dc in next 6 st, take hook out and leave long loop
Round 4: pick up loop from color 1 and work [1dc in next st, 2dc in next st] 6x, take hook out and leave long loop, pick up loop from color 2 and work [1dc in next st, 2dc in next st] 5x, 1dc in next st, (1hdc, 1sc) in next st, leave long loop.
Round 5: pick up loop from color 1 and work 1dc in next 3 st, dc2tog in next 2 st, turn your work and skip next 2 st, 7dc in next st, skip next 2 st, slst in next st, turn your work, 1sc in next st, (1hdc, 1dc, 1dc with 2ch and slst in top, 1dc, 1hdc) in next st, skip next st, slst in next st, skip next st, (1hdc, 1dc, 1dc with 2ch and slst in top, 1dc 1hdc) in next st, 1sc in next st, slst in next st. Cut yarn, fasten off and work away end.
Round 6: pick up loop from color 2 and work1sc in next 5 st, work 1fsc in the same st as last st, now work 1fsc in the foundation of previous stitch 9x, now while working the next fsc, you are not only inserting your hook through the foundation of previous st, but also through a stitch on the cat’s body, work 1fsc in the foundation of previous stitch 3 more times. Cut yarn, fasten off and work away end.
